1G stupid question does the tranny from the 1.8 fit the 2.0 engines

ok dont filp out on me i think i already know the answer but i just want to confirm it. does the tranny from the 1.8 fit the 2.0 engines?

I was wordering the same thing cause me and a friend went from a 1.8 to a 2.0 turbo and we really dont want to spend that much for a new tranny but i do know that the clutch assebly doesn't work so anybody know the answer?

theyre different bellhousing patters, cuz theyre different engines. atleast i think? but i think theres adapters or something like that. and the 2.0 turbo trannys (fwd in ur case) are spose to be stronger, i guess? but the pic i saw of a 1.8 and 2.0 fwd didnt even look the same. do u have the 2.0 in the car or can look at the mating surfaces?
