I put in a new RPS 2500 Max Street Series Clutch in this weekend along with a Taboo shift fork. I put everything back to spec. I have a lock washer behind my slighy shimed pivet ball. I have a new Mitsu TOB.

I have a problem thought when the clutch is engaged there is a slight sraping/chatter noise, its not real loud. When I disengage the clutch (put the pedal to the floor) it goes away. My clutch adjustment is almost off the floor. The flywheel was machined & the disc is toward the flywheel side. Wonder if this Billet fork is hitting something inside of there.

PS it did not make a noise when I first cranked the car. Only when I shut it off & checked the connections of some things & then restarted.

Thanks

Its a brand new one from Mitsubitshi.

The noise stops when I slightly push the pedal towards the floor. It only takes about 1/2"-1" of push to make it stop. It also feels like something is fighting the pedal within that 1/2"-1" of pushing it to the floor. The noise also continues in a gear going down the road. I can slightly rest my foot on the pedal pushing down that 1/2"-1" & you can hear it stop. The car is also very shaky when I start off into 1st or Reverse (basically something from a stop), i take that just being a new clutch.

Thanks for your responce

My Flywheel was said to be turned/stepped to .614"

Would this make a difference?

So you have something to shim the ballstud out, AND you have a lock washer in there? Sounds like too much. That should make it engage high though, not low.

The flywheel was machined & the disc is toward the flywheel side

Disc is toward the flywheel side. Is that to say that the thicker portion is toward the flywheel? It should protrude on the disc side, there is a lot more depth there.

Not sure what is ultimately causing your problems, but these two items seem odd to me. :) I could be misunderstanding things though.

I figured it out. Its the billet fork hitting the diaphram of the pressure plate. I went to a muffler shop & had them tack on some welds to a slave cly. rod I had & extended it until I can get a lagit one in from Taboo. The fork is no longer hitting the PP.

Thanks

I believe so. The previous owner shimmed it. I assumed that it would be ok & put it back together the way he had the ball.
