I can't decide on the clutch disk... HELP!

I need some experienced replies if at all possible...

But I'm having second thoughts, I really don't want to break my drivetrain. I REALLY don't want an organic disk either. I JUST DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH AN ORGANIC DISK. I know Shep is runing ACT #2600 with organic street disk--I don't care--I don't want it, I like to drive my car hard quite often and I drive it every day, not just weekends or every other week.

Performance "KEVLAR-KEVLAR PRO" Sprung Hub

I like this one above, because it'll last a long time, as Kevlar does. But once it heats up, it'll slip like crazy because it'll glaze over. Would a ACT #2600 pressure plate fall into the category of "high load pressure plates"?
Sounds like no one knows shit about Kevlar clutches. Clutchnet say they will outlast all over clutches--it'll last three years. I want this one, but I don't want to curse myself with slippage.

I don't remember WTF they said about this one. Supposedly lower opposing surface wear than 6-puck disks and not as grabby.

Performance "SMOOTH LOCK PRO" ™ Sprung Hub

I really don't want an organic disk, but if it came down to that I'd want their disk, because of the spring pocket design. I heard ACT disk springs walking out, but mostly because of other drivetrain problems--like misaligned tranny-to-engine. Who knows for sure.

Does anyone know how this one would compare to ACT's street disk?

Any time I call them to ask technical sh*t, seems they don't know much about their own sh*t and talk as if they were shooting in f*cking dark. Pisses me off. I like all the different options they have, but support sucks. They just want to push a product they make, but seem to not know much about it. WTF.

Someone please point me in the right direction.

I really don't want an organic street disk. I killed Clutch Masters #2500. I just don't want to deal with organic disks, PERIOD. And boost is turned up even more now. I don't want a #2900 ACT pressure plate either, I've decided on #2600. (#2600 is not really 2,600 lbs, ACT explained, they actually hold 2,800 lbs -- I don't believe it ). I'll be upgrading the turbo, so I want a clutch disk that will manage torque of about 20G-sized turbo or so.

Anyone have any experienced/knowledgeable input? I'd appreciate it very much.

I've had good experiences with clutchnet discs.

I had an '87 RX7 which had the 6 puck sprung hub disc with a new OEM pressure plate and it locked up Nice. I only had the car for a few days before it got stolen, but the two days i had it, i loved the clutch. I had a little bit of evil in me and i got on it to redline a few times (i know i shouldn't have, but i couldnt resist) and it did not slip at All. My rex put down 284whp 3 weeks before it got stolen.

I've got another 6 puck sprung disc that's waiting to go in my talon mated to a clutch masters 2500 plate and i'm looking forward to it!
 
An UNsprung disc tends to be hard on trannies. It transmits harsh vibrations directly to the gears and bearings. All of your choices have sprung disc hubs, so it won't be so bad.

Any misalignment between the bellhousing and the block will ruin any clutch disc, not just ACT.
 
I have a sprung hub ceramic six puck in my Talon. It's not a Clutchnet, but it works great. It uses a stock presure plate and holds well. However, it isn't very streetable. It takes some getting used to in driving around town. It grabs hard and doesn't allow much slippage. After it's warm it does better about letting you slip it a little. I use my car as a daily driver and if I had to do it again, I would choose a full face disk. If you use the car more for drag racing or autocross, or any racing for that matter, the 6 puck is nice. It grabs gears instantly and the sprung hub reduces or eliminates vibration onto the tranny. I'd be interested in one of those full face ones with the puck look though to see how they drive. :D
 
Sorry, forgot to mentione, people--this is stricly a daily driver street car. I wonder if anyone has any experience specifically with the carbon and kevlar disks.
 
THe hotter it gets the better it grabs? I don't see how, but can anyone explain that? It grabs fast only because he has a higher load pressure plate probably.

so reading through all this you get a little more slip (good for us on the launch) while getting most of the power to the ground. also smoother engagment.
