whats the exact difference between the awd and fwd tranny is it just that one has a transfer case. if so would i be able to just bolt it to the fwd tranny

As long as you are also going to use the flywheel that goes with whichever tranny you are going to use. Also if you are using an awd tranny in a fwd then you will also have to take out the viscous coupling and block off the output for the transfer case.

my thanx for the info i think i may have gotten the answer i was looking for from it so theres 2 different trannies one for front and one for all. i am aware of the difference in the fly wheels.

but my Q. was if i could just bolt my tranny from a front wheel drive to a transfer case

No, there is not output shaft for the X-fer case. Hope that helps
