My car will not go into gear

a couple of weeks ago on the way to school my car was hard to get into gear.After school it worked fine but then a day later it did it again on the way there and back. So i stopped driving it and changed the slave cylinder beacause I thought that was the problem. It wasnt and I dont know what it is.I adjusted the clutch peddle, bled the clutch, changed the master cylinder and still cant get it in gear. When the car is off it goes into gear fine and i have searched already but couldnt find the solution.I was wanting to know if the pivot ball could be the problem.Any suggestions would be helpfull Thanks.
 
Just out of couriosity... are you sure you bleed the hell out of your lines...?

because when I replaced my master cylinder I had to bleed for a little more than and hour in order for the system to presurize the fluid... I know all cars are a little different then others but, if you aren't getting all the fluid pressure when you're bleeding, you should bleed more and more...
Last time you bleed the lines did you get a strong straight fluid stream? if not, you may need more bleeding, now if none of this is helping, you may have some lines bent, or maybe leaking... did you check very carefully from you master cylinder to the end of the slave cylinder for leaks?
 
I did bleed the clutch until there was no more air. I did change the master cylinder and slave cylinders at different times if that matters.I was just wenting to know if the pivot ball could be worn out enuf to cause it not to go into gear at all. And do i have to drop the intire tranny just to change the pivot ball? Thanks for the reply.
 
I'm having the exact same problem, and it has gone away and come back too. Everyone thinks that the pressure plate is ####ed, and not fully disengaging. I also hear a loud schreeching noise when I'm in gear and accelerate. And a few humming noises, sometimes when I press the clutch pedal all the way in, I'll hear that same squeeling noise, or the humming, really screwed (it all happens at different times, and then it gets completely normal occasionally).

When you shut the car off, and try to shift the gears, is it okay and smooth again? (mine does that)
 
Over my winter break i was having the same problems. It ended up being a bent pressure plate fin. It eventually snapped after showing my friends my new car. It wouldnt even go in to gear anymore, It had melted to the Clutch.

Had to get parts overxmas eve and change the pp and clutch on christmas so i could drive to work the next day. so much fun.
 
I hope its not a pp fin. could u get it in gear with the car still off?Its getting to be race time, I dont have much money and got to get this thing fixed.Thanks for the replies. Im still wanting to know if the pivot ball could be the problem and would i have to drop the entire tranny to get to the pivot ball.
