Ok this might sound stupid or very smart. Ive got a 90 AWD TSi and my tranny is crap, so i got a 93 trans from the DSMtrader, ive got a friend whos got a dyno and its a 2wd dyno so im trying to get a FWD trany in my AWD. I also got a friend that will lend me a FWD tranny for a few months. THe only thing is the cradle bracket that goes under the AWD tranny is a little to high to clear the FWD tranny. Does any body know if it would be bad to drive around with that bracket off? It would only be for about 2 months max. If its bad i think i can get some longer bolts and some washers to move it down about a half an inch.

4 did u take the awd tranny out? my awd has the transfer case and the drive shaft taken out so i'm just fwd now, i will reinstall it... but y don't u just do that if all u wanna do is dyno it... am i right? or do u just not want the hp loss with the awd?

Well If you center diff is welded you can get away with that. Its not good to run around like that if you dont. If i did it it would destroy my limited slip center diff

That Cradle, is a crossmember, Its going to let stuff flex. it might let stuff flex TOOO much, and make them bend.

That is completely stupid.

Get the VC elimitator insert from TRE. The just pull the rear most section of the driveshaft and dyno. Then put the shaft back in.

You can also get a spool to replace the diff if its a track car...

I'd just pull the trans.. and send it to shep and have the VC deleted if it is a drag car.

Im poor and this cost me zero dollars. I just picked up a 93 AWD tranny from DSMtrader. Im going to attempt to rebuild whatever is broke in it. Ive already rebuilt my 90 but the shift fork for 1 &2 is worn bad and its only a single syncro setup.
