2G Trouble pulling the axles

i'm having trouble pulling the axles out of the transmission on my 97 awd

i got the axles out of the wheel hub so far..

Use a prybar. Place it between the trans housing and the axle cup, push hard. It comes out easier if you have a friend help. Your friend can use a prybar on the top side of the joint, and you can pry from the bottom. Otherwise just push really hard.

is there a way to remove the transmission with the axles in it, then remove the axles later?

No, why? Did you already start to remove the tranny?

well that would be one way to get them out

it will be a PITA, just pry - after 120k miles, mine were really hard to get out - just a lot of work.

Be careful to not damage the axle seals in the tranny or it will leak when you put it back together.

well snap on comes tomorrow so i'll get a pry bar... do i need any other tools?
