I know everyone is going to jump on me about raising the rev limiter but now with the fully balanced bottom end and fully built head the rev limiter is set at 8500 and Im prolly going to raise it to 9000 eventually.

I dont hit this high on every shift obviously but I noticed that when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd at 8500 the car really was fighting me to go into gear. It wasnt grinding or anything, it just wouldnt go in, almost like a lock out on the gear.. But it went in eventually when the RPMs dropped back down to around 7500.. Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. You should expect your syncro life to suffer as a result. It is great to be able to raise the rev limit and extend the powerband, but this is definitely a side-effect. You know though, some people have this problem and some don't. I think it is a little like other DSM quirks. Sometimes you get lucky and your tranny doesn't mind shifting at 8.5K, other cars hate it.

well one out of 3 runs it went in at 8500 and on that run I shifted pretty quick.. was nice.. I think im going to just run 1st and 2nd to 7500 and 3rd out at the track for now on
