great neck,
well i went to the dealer to get the stock plugs(they charged $7 a piece, but i cant find it in any autoparts store) and just out of curiosity i asked them if i could put transmission fluid( GM syncromesh)in the rear axel. they told me that depends on if my car has limited slip diferential ,if it does then i need to get the LSD fluid. however i've been searching around the site and people always talking about putting redline, gm sync...etc. i was just wondering if they are LSD compatible or do people put some LSD additive, if so what kind... thanks everyone in advance, any info would be helpful. btw i do have LSD, just found the bright orange label by my door.

Order spark plugs from any of the DSM vendors, or Advance Auto for around $15/set.

Do not put Syncromesh in the rear diff. Syncromesh is for the transmission. Use Gear oil in the rear end, redline"shockproof" is commonly used.

thanks, i see. so it doesnt have to be LSD fluid (not the psychedelic one of course...;) is that what you are telling me or the redline shockproof IS for LSD rear axels? can someone clarify that for me please?

Shockproof is made specifically for gear cases/differentials. It's thick, and heavy, and is supposed to reduce wear on the parts under severe duty. It's a good idea if you're driving hard, dragracing, autocrossing, etc... Otherwise, just follow the manual, and put the specified weight gear oil back in it.

The transmissions and rear differential (LSD or not) uses 2 different type of gear oils. Same goes for the transfer case. Use whatever you use for the rear diff in the transfer case. In my case I use either lightweight or heavyweight Redline Shockproof Gear Lube. Good stuff.

so, if i were to put the gm synchromesh in my car, i would only put it in the manual transaxle, and put the shockproof in the transfer case and rear diff?

Yup, you got it. :thumb:

Another popular tranny fluid is BG syncroshift.
