The South,
Does anyone know...for the past few days i've been trying to speed up the shifting/gun-ing deal when racing. When i do gun it, I feel a snap or hear/sense OMG something might go wrong with the drivetrain if I do this too much. It is alot quicker, but for the people who do powershift and shift/gas super quick, how's all that stress on the drivetrain holding up? I'm just curious because I don't wanna break another shift fork and if this is the way to do it again, then i'm gonna have to hold off on the practicing :D

hmm thats prob why i broke the talons tranny in 3 weeks. i better cool it on the gsr..

Anytime you put stress on the drivetrain you take a chance in brakeing something especially on a dsm because Mitsubishi screwed us by putting a crappy driveline behind the 4g63t in the eclipse and talon and leaving the good tranny in japan in the evo.
So yes power shifting / speed shifting can cause something to brake especially if done incorrectly.

do this. buy a crane hi6di2 ignition. hook the 2 stage up to your cruise control switch on your clutch. never let off the gas when your shifting. redline mt-90 helps too. dont jam it into gear. screw around with the shifter bolts til it feels smoother. ummm, when your sitting at a stop ready to race go from 1st to second to third about ten to twelve times. i think it might line up your synchros. always worked for me.

P.S. if you cant afford a new ignition, just do the other things:)
