Not to pat my own proverbial shoulder...
... but congratulations to myself for winning the Sport Compact PA Quick 8 this past saturday at the Mountain Park Dragway, in Clay City Kentucky.
Congratulations also to Bill Walls in his 11 sec 1990 Talon Tsi AWD, who managed a victory on sunday in the same class.
The most exciting race of the weekend had to have been the finals on saturday in which I raced a nitrous'ed CRX. He had run a best of 13.2xx earlier that day, while I had managed mid 12's, so neither of us was expecting much of a race. However, some adjustments to his nitrous system yielded him a personal best of 12.8 to my slower, but winning 12.9. The timeslip showed that I managed the victory by bettering his reaction time by a couple tenths. A very close race indeed.
Although I did not manage to set a new personal best ET, I did manage to pull a new personal best MPH of 117, which is 4mph faster than when the car ran 12.2@113, however, I fugged the launch so badly on that run (2.0xx60'!!! Horrible for me) the ET was in the mid 12's.
I am quite pleased with the cars performance overall. Although it hasn't run 11's (yet), it still manages to squeak out a win on occasion, which is good enough for me.
I'd also like to congratulate MuttTsi, who attended the race on sunday, for becomming an official member of the 12 second club.
Thanks for the bandwidth
