lancer evo 8 ran a 15.2.....

ok so I was at the track tonight, I lined up against a New lancer evo 8. Wow dude I was seriously phsyched. So we launch and I rape him off the line, I'm ahead of him until the beginning of third gear. Im asking myself "wtf" so he passes me and end up beating me by about a car he clocked at 15.2 and his trap speed was so low, im not sure i have the slip in my car. I hit a 15.7 with a .030 reaction time and a 2.3 60', i was happy with the run

There are just too many variables when racing someone. Maybe he missed a shift, or botched the launch or just doesn't know how to drive at all. Obviously we all know the Evo's are capable of much better times, but without a decent driver the car doesn't automatically become a race car......

FWIW, that's not a terrible time for a NT car (yours).

He prolly stalled at the line and then missed a gear somewhere in there. Evos with a decent driver should never see 15s or even 14s.

Agree, the driver had to suck! Come on, 270 HP awd should never run over 15 in the 1/4.

Yeah it must have been the 1st evo built because some of them have defects to 15's seem like a the right time for the car...uh huh..or not whataver and stuff

You guys hear about the worlds fastest 2004 Evo 8?.... "11.62 @ 121.27 MPH (22.5 PSI with No Spray)"...I saw that in a magazine.... Powered by Pruven. It's a total street car too... can drive it all day.

There is a guy running here locally SA/Austin area that has run 15.3 in his Evo 8 constantly. And yes, his is modded. But his driver skill is more of a factor than have 270 hp.

i watched a new sti run a 13.9 at 97......i was like wtf, 97mph!!! a goped could pull him from a roll, every time i go to the track i see at least like 10 cars that are running like 1-2 seconds slower then they are supposed to, wrx's hitting 17's at maple, NSX ran a 14.4 @ 95 last time......its weird

the guy in the evo8 ran a 2.4 60', haha, wow it was horrible. He admitted that he had no idea how to drive his car.

Yeah, and stock GSX's running 16.0@84. Oh wait, that was mine last month. May be my far-from-perfect driving skills or may be the 4 or 5 dents along my exhaust pipe due to a freakin' ice chunk last winter. Or that weird noise coming out of what seems like my tranny. Yeah, many factors involved. Of course, I blame the ice and the weird noise

I'll have to attempt to redeem myself this weekend.
