Just wondering what mods it takes to be at the same pace as a wrx? I knoticed they only make 127hp but i dont know the weight differences between the two cars. Im talking 95 talon tsi awd by the way. Whats the cheapest way to go?

Boost control
K&N (or other open E)
Exhuast

To really pull on one

Bigger TC
Upgraded Injectors
ECU (dsm link or stand alone)

Cheapest way to go is a MBC set to 13 psi, K+N filter, and 1G BOV. don't forget the boost gage.

Stock 2G came with 210 HP, so adding 17 more is easy. Get a catback exhaust and you will pull on a stock WRX. Add more mods and you just keep getting faster.

my roommate used to have a WRX with the following mods: up pipe, 3" turbo back exhaust, injen intake, 16psi with profec b, RFL bov, 18" wheels and 235 kuhmo's. my 95 FWD talon with some minor bolt ons and the T25 stayed right next to him from a 20 mph roll. one thing though, his driving skills might be a little bad since with all those mods his best time was a 13.9. wish he still had it cuz i'd like to see how bad i could walk on him now with my big 16g, greddy fmic, and e manage!

I played with a WRX when my Talon ran *sniff*, and my first three gears are taller, so I was behind him by half a car off the line, but when he shifted I pulled a 1/4 car ahead. By the time we hit 110 (where we previously agreed to back off), he was maybe a foot ahead of me... I would suggest building a 12 second car so you can also hunt GT2's, Viper's and the occasional Enzo...

get a bleeder valve for a boost controller - $10

thats all that should really do it for a stock wrx, they arent very good track cars. the six speed M/T with short gears causes them to be shifting more than gassing. with the t-25 you should run about 16 psi, but make sure you have a boost gauge.

i beat one in my friends 97 gs-t with cat-back exhaust and 12 psi on a tired turbo.

I hung with from what I could see, (3 pillar pod and exhaust, BOV) a modded WRX on the highway at only 11psi with only exhaust, intake, MBC.

OMG Now that the WRX STi's are coming out, it's time to start watching out before we try to smoke one off a light. 300hp stock and 0-60 times in the upper 4's!! Might need a little more than K&N's and a big exhaust nowadays. Good luck to all!

:thumb: all the power to you. With all that on your car I don't think you'd have trouble. I was simply warning people who do the exhaust and the intake and think they can take any WRX. I know they're the enemy, but I'd give a little respect as well. To those who CAN kick their asses, go hard!

Word but the faster DSM's out there(which there are alot) can take the STI anytime but they are still unbelievably fast and deserve their respect.

hey i love dsm's i use to have one till it was stolen from me. they i guess you guys would say i have gone to the other side because i bought a WRX. i still miss my 2G Eclipse tho  but the Rex is tight

WRX's are not all that fast (stock).

STI's are pretty fast, but not for $30k.

When we say WRX, are some of you guys thinking STI? Cause, the WRX can be beaten if you have minor bolt-ons...

STI's are pretty fast, but not for $30k

is all anyone thinks about is dragging? Dude those Sti's have been recorded in at 12.8@105 with a good driver. Im not sure what they will be laying down on paper(13.1-13.3@102-104) but and low 13 second car, awd, NEW w/warranty, badass suspension, awesome on pavement and dirt for 30k and thats to much:confused: I dissagreeOMG

the STI was picked to be one of the fastest cars in the world for under $40k. the best buy car for under $40k was the Toyota Supra.

i know awd will pull on me from a stop. I have pulled on a wrx. goin 70mph we both dropped it and bye bye subi. And i'm pretty much stock other than an intake and 3" exhaust.:thumb:

well i watched the worlds most pathetic driver in history drive his stock wrx and he was hitting 89 traps, and running 17's ROFL, he launched at like 250 rpm LOL, he pratically stalled it launching

my 95 tsi awd running 16psi with full exhaust intake and uicp ran a 94mph trap, a stock wrx is very close to that

and to the guy saying build a 12 second car and hang with gt2's and vipers........i want some of the crack your smoking, an 11 second dsm maybe not a 12, they both trap near 120 for christs sake

hey listen I'm a convert to the 4g63. I originaly was into wrx and I still am, but let me tell you a wrx tuned right will hurt the unsuspecting dsm and even the one's ready for it will get killed by a cobb or vishnu wrx.

All I'm saying is watch put they got game.

I have basic bolt ons and I'm pulling on WS6's on the highway. Let me race a ws6 from a stop and I"m 5 cars out front.and 7 -8 at 120mph.

Off the start the WRX is great! Later in the top we'll be left behind. I i need is a 3" turbo back and some minor bolt ons and i'll be highway ready. The car has great potential and so do dsm's i'm still waiting to see an all out drag WRX. the best WRX i've heard about so far is the Easy Street Motorsports WRX and that runs a 10.01@140mph

good luck takin on Enzo's.

1.there are only 70 to be sold in the US.

2. they do 10.8 at 130(??) right outta the box.

3. they do 0-60 in just over 3 seconds.

But by god if I had $660 thousand US bucks to spend on my DSM, there is no car on the planet that could touch it in any respect :D
