First time to track.

On march 8th, i will be heading to raceway park. This is the first time i will be drag racing my car at a strip. I have a 95 talon tsi awd with the following mods; testpipe/catback 2.5in., cone filter, MBC at 16psi, upper IC pipe, and a 1gbov. Do u guys think a 14.9et is way out of the question for me to reach? I will take my spare tire out and should be at about a half tank of 94 octane. I also have a bone stock auto tranny.

With the modifications you have it should be no problem, that is if you can get a good launch and not miss any gears I ran a [email protected] mph with only free mods and a Center force Dual friction clutch. I also had a 1.933 60' time. With your set up, and a good launch you could be easily in the mid 14's possibly low 14's. Good luck.

Oh wait a sec, I just noticed you said you have an auto, um crap. Sorry but I'm not sure what you would do for sure now. hehe I really need to read everything before I jump to an answer.

Can any of u auto awd guys post ur times and mods on a stock tranny. Any info will be much appreciated.

Just another stick guy weighing in: with a K&N air filter, upper I/C pipe w/1g BOV, MBC at 17 psi, 100 octane pump gas, and what later turned out to be pretty foul plugs, I ran 14.951 at 89.070 mph my first time at the track. That was at full weight; jack, spare, seats, everything.

With your catback, test pipe, and a little weight reduction, you'd definitely be in the 14s with a 5 spd. You might want to take a peek at the A/T ClubDSM website for some ideas on launch techniques and other stuff.

if all goes well and my car is still running right. I'll be there. My car has a hazed out right headlight. Everything else on the outside is stock except for my exhaust. Hope to see another fellow DSMer there.

Yo man how did you do there? I really didnt look around too much cause we were working on our friends car. Best i ran was 14.3 and got to 3rd round in the eliminations.

Na man i couldnt go. Car got a check engine light and friday night my boys decided to tell me they didnt want to go. I didnt want to go alone. I guess some other time and with some more mods done to my car.

Also congrats on a 14.3 run. Good job man. What was your trap speed?
