how do i run better on a pro tree light?

OK a quick question for all the track people here, how do you run better with a pro tree light. On a track with the lights normal (i dunno what it is called) i ran a 12.8 but on the pro tree light i ran a horrendous 13.9. It was my first time i had ever run a pro tree light before and i think if i get use to it that i will do better. Are there any suggestions for helping me quicken my time?
 
What does your R/T have to do with your 1/4 mile time? Thats right, abso####inglutely nothing. So Pro tree or no Pro tree, you just ran a crap time. Either way, on the sportsman you go on the last yellow, on the Pro you go when you see yellow. Done and done.

But just so you know, RT doesn't have to do with your ET.
 
Sounds like you got intimidated by a Pro Tree and had crappy run… I am not sure why people are so afraid of it, I think that it is easier than a Sportsman’s tree.

On a street car, stage shallow and just take off AS SOON as you see the lights. You will cut around .550-.650 sec light just about every time. It is almost impossible to get a red light on Pro Tree with shallow staging on a street car.

You also have to raise the revs up to launch rpm as you stage. On the slow sportsman lights you can raise the revs as the first yellow comes on and still launch at a decent rpm. Use a stutterbox to help you creep foward into the staging lights and use the emergency brake so you don't have to take a foot off the gas or clutch.
 
What is a stutterbox and how do you stage? I thought you just go up to the line, wait and it just starts the lights.
