Wheels and tires.

Hi, im looking for a decent street/strip wheel and tire combo.

This will be a 1G dsm talon, awd. lowered maybe 1.5". Im shooting for aprox 550-600awhp, i made almost 400 this year on the stock motor and next year im going to go for better #'s.

I need something that i can drive on the street also, thinking maybe a MT ET street? Or something similar, maybe even a BFG drag radial.

Let me know what you guys think, the biggest problem is deciding tire size, im probably going to go with a 16" wheel, but im unsure of the offset i need to properly fit whatever tire works best, as well as how wide the wheel needs to be.

Let me know what you guys think, pics are great too!

Thanks alot.

Those will definitely do it for ya, but I don't know if I would want to waste them on the street. Those are some serious rubber and will get all gummed up and knotted on the street (it'll sound like a gravel road with all the crap you pick up).

In other words, yes they are street legal (they have a groove in them that makes the DOT approved), but it would be a waste to drive them around town. I would look for something a little less aggressive even if you need to have them shaved down to a lower tread rather than waste a nice set of race tires.

With your listed mods, just get a separate set that you can take to the strip and leave the road tires for the road. Hell, if you need to, have a detatchable trailer hitch set up and pull a cart to the track with your slicks (plenty of AutoX/Hill-Climbers do the same).

BFG's are a pretty good street/strip tire that will last half decently on the street & will still work in the rain but they aren't available in 16's. If you want more aggressive the MT's would be the way to go, offer more grip but of course will wear quicker & not be as good in the rain.
