First time out on e85
Oh man I can tell you I was one happy man last night. I was just hoping for a 12.5 at least did not expect any better. First run of the night I went 12.24@115 this thing really comes off the line with the slicks. Second run was a 12.16@116 with another 1.8 60ft. My boost line came off the back of the bov on the last run and managed a 12.7@108.
So to say the least I was very happy with last nights runs. Cant wait to go back and try for that 11.99.

Sounds like a pleasant surprise. E85 is some fun stuff, good luck with your 11's, you can do it!

I was running about 28psi dropping down to 24psi. Not sure on the IDC but I had 0 knock and was 20* of advance. I am gonna get a stiffer wastegate spring and see if it can hold 28psi all the way through the run. I want an 11 bad so im gonnna do what I can.

Nice runs! Are you still setup as in your profile? Sweet numbers on the E316g if so. I'm really happy to see the low et's people are putting down these days on that turbo with E85 or race gas. Good luck shooting for 11's!

I dont think the stiffer spring will do anything. Im running 30psi and falling to 26psi by redline. My brother is also running 28psi and dropping to 24psi on his 16g and he has the wastegate flapper closed shut. He has a custom actuator that is adjustable and we tightened it so the wastegate wone move at all and boost still does not hold. I think maybe a real good port would help.
Im already getting tired of my 16g at this boost level and want to upgrade. I thought I was good on my motor but we always want more. Im hoping for a 12.5 up here at my altutude. Hope I get surprised also.

Your only hopeing for a 12.5.. Ah come on Jay that altitude cant be that bad.
Hell I can consistently run a good 2 to 3 tenths faster than a 12.5 on pump gas on my 16g.
As far as boost falling, how much psi your turbo holds to redline has a lot to do with how much air your motor flows. Just because boost is falling doesnt mean power does, but I agree, getting it to hold longer will give more out of it.
I think a stiffer w.g. spring helps a little because realize that the lighter the spring the sooner it begins to open so the pressure thru the whole system relieves quicker.
Obviously, make sure you dont have any boost leaks ANYWERE, because that will hurt you a lot.
Try the stiffer spring, and try a cold air intake, when I did my CAI I dropped IAT's 30degs and gained another psi to redline. ( Colder air means its denser going into compressor) Switching to gm maft blow thru setup w/ custom intake hard pipe also helped in boost holding on my e316g setup, not to mentioned the significant increase in spool time from doing all this.
Your setup looks good though; good times for a fwd 2g. Any weight reduction?

No its a full weight 2g. Which CAI did you do the one that actually goes where the stock sidemount is? I am not gonna make it out on the 4th but the will prob be out on the 18th for sure to try for that 11 sec pass. Jayrolla what is your elevation up there. I am at about 4800ft.

Been back to the track a few times now and running consistent 12.1 12.2. This last weekend added the CAI and gained 2mph but nothing in the ET side of things. I need to figure out how to get my 60s in the 1.7s. Anyway still trying for that 11 on this little guy.

Good to see you're still working on it, and staying consistent. As for your 60' times, you have a Keydiver chip...is your stutterbox dialed in correctly? Can you heel-and-toe the brake and gas while slipping the clutch a bit to build more boost on the line? Or are you at the edge of wheelspin as it is? Maybe it's time to spring for some slicks up front if you are.

Indeed he did. Oops...
Based on the timeslips here on Tuners for FWD cars, you'll be in rare company to pull 1.7sec 60 footers. Even some of the quicker AWD's are slower than that. May just come down to a lot more track time and practice. Good luck!

Im glad the CAI i suggested helped...
Have you done any signficant weight reduction?
I would say drive it better but your already running really good times for a fwd, so basically you need more power less weight, your close to your goal though!

Yeah I really want to stay full weight 2g. So that is kind of the thing as far as taking stuff out. I was thinking I need some suspension work cause this car squats hard off the line and the 1-2 shift.
