Hey guys, down the road a bit i plan on getting OZ Superleggera's for my talon. Probably 18x8 or 18x7. I also plan on having a beater car for bad weather and for most of my driving. My question is...should I put the high performance tires on the superleggera's and use them for the track or should i use the stock 16's. Cause the 16's might be lighter and get better traction. Cuase i figured i could keep the superleggera's on all year around with all season tires, and keep the 16's in the garage with high performance tires on and use them for the track. What do u guys think or what set ups do u have?

Well, unfortunatley the stock 16" wheels on all 1g dsm's weigh no less than like 30lbs. The stock wheels are really heavy and really arent a good choice for performance. Thery are also only 6" wide which wont allow you to put anything bigger than a 225 on there. Superleggera's are really nice and a whole hella lot lighter than any stock dsm wheel. If you really want makimum performance get something like roat slipstreams or Kosei K1's or something. Try a 16x8 wheel that is really light and cheap so you can put your nice tires on there.

In my experience hoenstly, if your not making a lot of power you dont nead super nice wheels. I barely squirl mine running mid 12's. I spin a tiny bit in first and get a little swirly in second but thats it. I have one set of wheels, they are light 17x8's with a 215 (no $$$)/45/17 and I got some crappy Khumos on there and drive and drag on them all the time...
