I went to the track a couple of days ago for my first time, and I don't think I did so well. I had just gotten on a new clutch a week before, and just finished the break in period on the drive there. I was having serious trouble launching the first couple of times and pulled 13.7 at 102* not positive on the trap speed. Every run thereafter I dropped 1/10th on my E.T., and gained about another mph trap. When I told people what I was running they said thats good for your first time at the track. Then I started getting really good launches. And when I went to get my timeslip I saw I was still only pulling between 1.9-2.0. I thought they were really good launches, but I guess not. My last run of the day I ran a 13.2 @ 106, with a 60' of 1.9. Now I realize your first time at the track you're not going to do all that well, but with everybody telling me my car could pull mid 12's, and only going low 13's I was dissapointed. I'm sure everyone says this, but I consider myself a decent driver. What do you guys think. Any tips or comments would be much appreciated. Thanks.
My first time out, after MANY runs I got down to a 13.8 on pump gas. Next week I managed a 13.5 with the same mods. Now I'm down to my current time on race gas
