Stutterbox..will help with quest for 1.5 60ft times?

Looking to get 1.5 60ft times at the track. Will having a stutterbox with 2 step revlimiter keep my car from bogging during 1st-2nd shift? i see alot of DSM's bogging during that transaction. Will it keep boost up between shifts?
 
I was able to get a 1.598 launch by holding rpm at 4500 then giving just a bit more throttle than clutch release. No bog with just a bit of slip.

A stutterbox really doesn't help the 1-2 shift.
 
nope not venting. i'm recurculating my greddy type-s. I wanna keep the turbo spooled between gears

Shift at a higher rpm. I shift at 6400 to stay in the power band.
 
yeah ..i seem to have a problem with shifting out of powerband....i'll have to real learn shift points after installing hks cams

Actually, it shouldnt change much after changing cams because the powerband doesn't shift up as much as it just goes up. Comprende?
 
The studder box is awesome. It will definantly help you launch better.

People still can get good short times without the use of the studder box but it is so much easier with it.

Also you could use a clutch cut style rev limiter to keep the boost up in between shifts.

The old TMO stage 3 chips have this, so does dsmlink and the dsmchips.com chips.

depends on what cams you get, how you degree them, and what turbo is on the car....

bounce the limiter in first and it'll improve your 60 foots a little if you do it right. the reason you see people mess up 2nd a lot is because once you start making a lot of power 1-2 becomes a difficult shift to make sometimes without a lot of practice.. stutterbox WILL help you a lot, again, if you use it correctly

good luck getting a 1.5 though, that is VERY difficult unless you run retreads or slicks or DRs, even with those it's hard

The 1.598 I got on street tires (Falken ZE502) at street pressure was a freak launch. I haven't been able to get 1.6xx since.
 
Sometimes the 1st to second gear can be hard for some reason, but the guy from road race with the black eclipse that was featured in sport compact car told me this.

Hold the rpm's steady at 5, slip dump the clutch, and power shift into second gear.

For those who don't know what that is,

Hold the gas down through you shift to 2nd gear, and you'd be surprized what that can do.

I launch like that all the time, and i haven't broke anything yet. :talon:
