idle problem

I have a 1992 talon tsi awd. When i put in park/neutral it revs way too high.. around 2300 rpms; just changed the idle sensor and it didnt make a difference. Could it be the cam bearing sensor? thanks

The three things i would check first is the vacuum lines for leaks,throttle stop switch is out of adjustment or broke, fuel pressure regulator is working right. as far as the cam angle sensor (CAS)it can make the engine run high idle but that would mean its advance and it would need to be retarded(you can retarded the CAS back when the car is running and see if the idle goes down) if that's the case you will need a timing light to set it correctly. hope this helps
