Well that all depends on how much you are paying for the EVO 5 upgrade...If it's a free motor then yeah do it but if not you're better off building the 6-bolt motor up and use that.

it pretty much the same motor with...someone please correct me if im wrong..... a bigger turbo and fuelrail. theres nothing wrong with but why go through the trouble of a swap when you can make the one you already have an evo motor for about $500.

The Evo 5 uses a completely different motor. True its a 4g63 but a variant. It's rotated 180 degrees like the 420a motors are. Sorry, no dice. This engine isn't just a straight drop in replacement.

Well the evo 1-3 motors are the same fitment but they are 7 bolt motors. The only thing better about them is the evo3 16g turbo 510cc injectors and a better flowing intake manifold. Your better off with the 6-bolt 1ga motor and buying the evo parts.

QFT.
I've always enjoyed working on a 6bolt motor more then an Evo, just seems more at home.

It's called the balance shaft, and there's 4 billion threads about the pros and cons of removing it, just do a search. Good luck

You can't use the motor from the Evo 5. You can use the ones from Evo 1-3 but you have to modify the mounts.
