Has anyone ever had a problem with crankwalk on the later 2g DSM's with the thrust washer (three piece thrust bearing).

I have talked to a few people who put engines together and they haven't had any problems. I am thinking about putting together some race engines and wanted to know if this is a more reliable block type.

The six bolt is a nice engine but it wasn't what I was asking about. I wanted to know about the late 7 bolt 2g engine with the three piece thrust washer. I like the bottom end of the late 7 bolt engine because of its one piece main bearing cap. This has a potential to be a very strong and ridged main bearing assembly.

Since this post I've talked to several major engine builders that all said that they had never seen any problems with this type of bearing in the 4g63.
