I didn't pay more for the thrust washer set on my motor build like these EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - ACL Aluglide Thrust Washer Set: Mitsubishi Eclipse 1997-1999 7-Bolt

Should I have? It's going in my 98 block with a 4g64 brand new crank. Also, I bought some ACL race bearings and I'm not sure if they were made for the 93-96 or 97-99, does it matter that much on my car with that block and that crank? I want to start up my car tomorrow, but not of it's going to break everything. Thanks,

Josh

If you plastigauged everything and checked crankshaft endplay then I wouldnt worry about it. You might drop the pan after a few thousand miles and check thrust bearing wear. CW is highly overrated. I have a 95 with 145k on it and the thrust bearing had very minimal wear when I removed the crank.

Yes 97-99 use 2 piece thrush washers and will not work with 93-96 flanged bearing blocks you're going to have to purchase those if the race bearings does not include thrust washers.

No one is talking about crankwalk? So why are you?

Thanks. If I purchased the wrong bearings that were made for 93-96 blocks, would they fit inside the motor fine, or are they completely different size/shape of bearing? Man, I just thought about this and I have everything already installed....

Flanged bearings have a groove 360degree in the shape of the bearing thrust are 2 piece and won't adapt to the shape.

Sorry not to get back to this for a while. I called some people and they said that if you have the split thrust design, the earlier bearings won't fit in there, or vice-versa. I ordered the correct bearings for my motor. The 93-98.5 don't use the split thrust design. The ones from 98.5-99 use the split thrust style bearings. Thanks for the help
