Hey just wondering if anyone's planning a DSM meet for 2012? I just looked back in the for at the 2010 one with complete jealousy and kinda think we should do one every year if possible. Just a though who knows maybe get a bigger turnout then we had in 2010?:D
 
Wow! totally forgot to check this thread lately been so busy in the build forums. But ya either in Alberta or Saskatchewan because its more in the middle. But majority will rule over all, should depend on how many DSM'r from the east are interested. Maybe even Manitoba? I kinda just wanted to see if there was interest, if I can afford to (and the cars running good) I'd definitely be willing to try and organize a Canadian DSM meet 2012. Float around a couple cities to host the meet and maybe have the local DSM'ers look for a good place to have it at, same rules as last meet old rusty or new and shiny everyone's welcome (even from across the boarder). Maybe float the idea by other people not on the site that you may know to double the numbers?
 
Manitoba all the Way center of Canada, Can even be a larger event ment for technology and the history as well. :sneaky:

I'd be in, but I'd say we should go somewhere that has an AWD dyno and a racetrack; kinda make our own little DSM Shootout for Western Canada since its so expensive to drive all the way down to Ohio.
 
*cough* don't forget the Toronto folks. Although I would reccomend PEI, I don't think that works out for anyone. But hey, it's PEI (ROFL). Is there never a Jory American meet with our US neighbors?

But in reality. If I was somewhere in sask, I really wouldn't mind making a trip down there.
 
Sweet nice to see some more life coming from this thread again, was getting a little worried for a bit there. I would say PEI to because of the fact its the most beautiful place in Canada and has intense twistiest we could drive but the truth is.....would all of our cars make it there with out going kaboom? I think it'll be between sask and alberta. Pretty much have priced out all the parts I need to make my car reliable so its definitely a go for me.
 
Exactly why I reccomended PEI. But to an extent. Like you said kaboom. Lol. That is true. Personally I honestly wouldn't mind driving my talon down to sask or possibly Alberta. Depends how healthy she is once ready in the coming month. As long as its sometime arround June-ish, I'd be happy to get there. I owe two of my friends a road trip anyways. As long as they don't mind the dual wally's, stiff mounts and such. :p

Not too far from mine being reliable as well. But that's why I'm asking for a mid summer meet.

If I'm going to drive all the way to PEI or even Ontario, I might as well go to Shootout in Ohio!

Was just saying that there's nothing like driving in PEI. And anyways, ever heard of PEI cops?

But if the meets going to be in sask, I really would love to come.

I'd love it to be in SK for travel reasons, but if this idea gets any traction, it will probably end up in Alberta just because of population reasons.
 
Lol. No worries. It's my fault. Honestly don't mind where the meet is. It would be nice to give the new build the test of mileage. As long as its no where that puts the cars at risk of being stolen or damaged, I'll come. Just as long as I know roughly 3-4 months ahead and it's a decent sized meet.
 
OK well lets make this happen! Before we can even make a date we should make a meet place, but like 1990AWD says it'll more then likely be in Alberta. There's a bigger DSM population there, so far there's only 8 of us up for it and V8killer25 is from the states. Lets just focus on a province and city then a date a location and then time. I'll try and focus as much time on this as possible but I will need some help.
 
Alright, but IMO, hat we should do is make a plan for two locations. One in Alberta and one in Saskatchewan. Then we all vote (make sure the people on ca.dsm are aware, then we follow through. There is a pretty good dsm community in Toronto and I'm not too sure how far they will want to drive.
 
Sounds great :). I wouldn't really mind Alberta, but the extra distance would add to the drag. No one likes driving a built car for road trips. But none the less. Sounds like a plan. Would be awesome to see this turn out. Lastly, is this going to be in June or July or when?
 
well that will all depend what will work out for everyone, you need it to be in June correct? if you do come when you get to Winnipeg take highway 1, because highway 16's a bloody mess and you'd really be sore then! LOL
 
Could be interested if my car is back together by then. I can also get a pile of dsm's out of Edmonton. I work on about 5 different dsm's here besides mine.
Edmonton Alberta would be great. We have a drag track, a couple of autocross venues but no awd dyno.
Calgary has an awd dyno and no race track anymore.
Saskatchewan may work too.

We would need to firm up a date and get numbers though.
 
I'm cool with Edmonton to but the voting will decide that. The more people we can get the better so if this goes down call'm up. This trying to firm up a date is kind of hard right now, not to many of people are keeping tabs on this thread to vote yet so I think I'll just pm people for work able locations.
