Manual Boost Controller

I just tried installing a manual BCS and when I put it on it jumped to 22 psi from 10psi. This was fully screwed in. Is this thing defective? What should I do? Thanks!

What kind of MBC do you have, turn the screw the other way, I did the same thing with mine. . whoops, spring was to hard, changed springs, now I get 15psi every time, cost me about 6 bucks at lowes

Umm... with most good MBC's, if the screw is all the way in you'll have max boost. You probably want the screw OUT.

Alright. You guys are probably right. I had the screw turned in as far as it would possibly go. So I need to turn it counterclockwise (out) in order to lower the boost? Just freaked me out when I got out on the road slammed the gas and it hit 22 psi on stock fuel. Yes, unscrew it for that one. Only with a bleeder would you screw it in.

For a ball-and-spring MBC, you turn the screw IN to INcrease boost.
