14b on my 2g

Ok lets face it.. i can't afford the $800-$1000 for a big 16g or FP28 but i WANT/NEED A BIGGER TURBO!!!!!!!!!! :cry:

So i found a guy who could sell me a 14b turbo with under 30k miles on it.... everything included (to install on my 2g) and shipped to my door for $330.

Now, will this be a good investment? Would a 14b help? I dont want to spend the little money I have and not get much out of it. I would much rather save the money and maybe one day (after lots of hopes n dreams) get myself a 16g or fp28.

These are the mods I have (and getting within a week)
Apexi N1
intake filter
turbo inlet pipe
UICP
LICP
1g BOV (crushed)
MBC 15 psi (17-18 psi on race gas)

I really want to get into the 13s (maybe even mid 13s) on my FWD.
All help is greatly appreciated! ...and please, be honest! ;)
 
That's a fair deal, if you don't get hosed go for it. It's a good budget turbo, nothing wrong with slow upgrades.

it's A LOT better than the T25. there will be some turbo lag (not as noticeable as you think), but unlike the T25, the 14b's power delivery is a lot more gradual, and boost holds steady throughout the RPMs.

The best way to equate it to your somewhat nieve "how much will it help" question is to say that your going to feel like you just did intake and exhaust again.

To help you get over your panic attack imagine this. Your not going to get your torque peak as early, but your torque peak will be greater, this will give you more power, but slightly later in the powerband. You will simply adjust your driving habits to match the powerband.

I say it's a no brainer, do the mod. If you don't do the mod your not going to learn. If your worried about lag then this is the best turbo for you to learn on. Lag isn't some mysterious monster that you can't control. Your just nervous about spending your money. If you don't have the money to throw around, don't throw it around.

You have to pay to play in this sport.
