BIG 16G how fast

I agree... go to the dsm times page

but an average for the faster 16g car is 12's -- depending on elevation

I dont know why but I have seen more people run faster times with the small 16G than the big. At least around here.

It has been my observation that the big 16G is quite a bit laggier than the small 16g. The small 16g is very responsive and makes for an easier car to drive. To get the most out of a big 16G you really need to mod/tune for higher rpms. In my opinion the small 16g is the better choice.

i went 11's on a big 16g
fully ported and clipped.
over 25 psi of boost
supporting mods and then some.

I made 304hp/323tq on a Big 16G >pump gas> 22psi.

Running 24lbs at the track> 1100ft elevation(Atlanta Dragway)>

I ran a 13.7@107>> FWD '92 Laser RST
(all supporting mods> starion fmic setup>completely stock motor).

The trap speed I was pulling was easy 12's with traction. :)

i never said it was effiecent. but damn did it pull hard!

there were some other tricks i added to the mix to the mix of things to support that

what do you mean not effiecent? whats the let down on it?

yes of course there would be other tricks to add "to the mix to the mix" of things to support that kinda boost. But that fact that it can go that high safely.................... it is safe right?

what trap speeds should be expected from a big16g with a 3" 02 elim downpipe, open exhaust, intake, fuel pump, and 18 psi?

all wheel drive? 103mph or so

i love my big16g. its not as efficient as the small 16g, but when you slap a big ass front mount intercooler on it sure helps.

I am running 18psi on a Big 16G. An AWD will not run 103MPH with just intake, exhaust, fuel pump and said turbo.

If its got injectors, FMIC and other mods sure it will. FWD's are lighter and always end up with better MPH than AWD's do, and I am only running 100MPH.

Granted, if I didnt suck launching my FWD I might have 110MPH.

It all depends on the driver. I have some internal engine work done aswell, so I dont think those mods alone will result in 110 for a FWD. But you will never know unless you go out and see.

trap speed varies very little, even if you spin out or get the best launch you ever will.

if your fwd is running 100mph traps with 18psi on a big16g, something is definately wrong

My guess is 25PSI MAX, and with an external gate to make it right and tuning you will have a 11 second car.

18PSI on a 16G and only 100MPH, well put it this way, your car traps at 96MPH stock, on stock everything, and now you have a WAY bigger turbo, detonation has to be, boost leak, everything, should be at 108 atleast.

Well, I know somthing isn't right with my tuning. I dont even think the injectors I bought are 625cc's like they are supposed to be. To keep fuel trims around 100% I need setting in the plus 15-25 range on the AFC. Low TH and Hi. I just dont have anyone here to help me out. :barf:

And even when I am not getting knock at WOT my timing advance still seems low to me. Its in the 13 area. Does that sound right?

Wrong.

My car, with a 14b, 450's, Exhaust, and a fuel pump does 102 mph on pump gas, and 108 mph on race gas. A 16g would be a tad faster.

However, that would be very close to the edge of your fuel supply.

I know a guy up here that did 11.8with a big 16g in a full weight 2g, with 550's, DSMLink, and a Greddy FMIC (at about 114 mph).

It's all in how you use the parts you have.
