turbo upgrade help

i am confused as hell as for what turbo upgrade to go with. my performance shop owner is a major greddy fan and says the only turbo is the 18g by greedy. i mean greddy. everyone other than him says it is garbage and to expensive. i think it is too expensive. 2000 dollars. **** i can get a super 16g for 700 bucks. give me your opinions on turbos for my car. some i have thought of are turbonetics, forcedperformance, buschr and hahn.
 
From all I keep hearing, for a daily driven street car (2G) the Forced Performance Big 28 seems to be becoming the "choice" turbo. It has gotten rave reviews. Haven't seen one bad review yet. Check into that one.

DO NOT waste your time on the GReddy "18G".

And yes, please let us know what all mods you have.
 
well getting the shortblock done up real nice right now. will be able to handle 450 horse and other than that it is stock. i plan more. i just need a new turbo and shortblock rightnow. they are shot. i would just like to be able to run in the 12's and maybe dip into the 11's. not going all out drag car. this will be a daily driven. i think i am going to go with the fp big 28. the guy that is building my block suggested it. and now you all also talk about it. cant go wrong i quess. here is the work that will be done to my block. balance and blueprinted shortblock w/ treated 2g pistons/ and
shot-peened 1g
rods w/balance shafts removed. let me know what u think
 
It will be tough to hit 11's with the big28. It is possible but you must be highly tuned and have port work on the head and a real good driver. Solid 12's won't be a problem.

yea i may put a shot of nitrous on it. but what do you think of the engine setup.
 
i would have went with crower or eagle rods, and je pistons for some security. but thats me. other than that, sounds good. you should see 12s with the big 28
 
damn that much more hp just with cams.. maybe getting me a early x-mas present
