Race Gas, Boost and AFC settings....

Hi all,

I want to try to run some race gas in my car and want to know if run 100oct gas, can I just turn up the boost or do I need to change the AFC settings as well.

My car is the typical B16G, 550's, 190 pump, etc....Sig. has rest. I had it tuned to run on 91 pump at Road Race. Boost is set at 17psi now.

Can I just bump it up to 19-20psi on 100oct? I only have an boost, egt, and a/f gauge. I don't have a logger.

If you put race gas in and don't touch the AFC, you will probably run too rich. You are going to want to lean it out some to give yourself more timing advance with the higher octane gas. Its tough without a logger to put a number on it though. I would be very careful though and only take out about 2% and watch the EGTs since its the best thing you've got for now. I personanly haven't had great luck with 100 octane gas vs just regular pump. I used to need to lean out quite a bit with C16 but thats a completely different fuel.
