Are all stock 1g turbo cams generally more aggressive that stock 2g turbo cams? I have a set stock 1g turbo cams, but they do not have the letters stamped in them to indicate which year they are from. I can confirm that they are from a 1g turbo head being that I was present when the head was being taken apart. I recieved them for free, so I would assume there is no reason for me to be misinformed by anyone to make a sale. I have searched and everyone compares the 1g cams within themselves to determine which year was the most aggressive, but I have not found any info that outright discusses if all the stock 1g turbo cams are more agressive than stock 2g turbo cams in general. I paid nothing for them and installation is not an issue for me, so please leave out the "in my opinion the gains are not worth the trouble" speech. Even if the gains are minimal, the experience would be invaluable. Thanks in advance for all replies.

I had a set of 1G 5spd cams that i recieved for free also. I had a local 2G guy who was interested in them, but his friend told him it wasnt worth a couple extra horsepower. I guess hes right, you should just save up and do a set of cams like HKS, or WEB. I hear from people that the 1G cams are good, and there people who say not to bother. Its all a matter of personal choice.

That is not what I asked, but thanks for responding. I just want to know what I asked and that is it. Again, anyone that responds, please leave OUT the "in my opinion it's not worth the troubles" speech. I asked a factual question that requires a factual response. Opinions have nothing to do with this at all.

Only the exhaust cam will give you any amount of noticible performance gain and even then its not that much. If you need to redo your timing belt or if the timing belt isn't already installed, then definitely throw it in there. If not, the time and effort spent to replace them does not justify the gains, even if the cams themselves are free.
