Are there any NON-FORGED internals that will work with this set-up? I would like to build a stroker motor for my daily driver, so running something like Ross pistons would require the motor being rebuilt far too often. Can anyone help me on this?

Ross pistons don't require cronic rebuilding, at least not anymore than a stock piston would.

If you drop a 4G64 crank in your 4G63 you will need some type of stroker piston ( JE and Wiseco both make them ). Stock rods will work, but the stroker pistons are necessary. Switching to forged is always more reliable than stock pistons if done correctly.

You can get some pistons from these guys.

I don't know why forged pistons need rebuilding "far too often". They are much more reliable than stock pistons if setup correctly. As for your question, the answer is no. You need custom stroker pistons to make it work.

Get some here ( they will all be forged, so beware ).

Thanks for the quick reply!

I don't plan on doing this, because I DONT want my rods to be my weak point in my engine, but this is good info for someone building on a budget.

I think you will find the 1G rod is thicker across the big end than a 4G64 rod which is the same width as a 2G rod!!!!!!!!

The 1G rods you are talking about is that in stock form or polished and shotpeened if so that would be a saving for me, i was going to buy eagles but have a couple of sets of shotpeened/polished/arp kitted rods. 500whp would suit me just fine.

Cool rods! i have two spare sets i am picking the best ones from, a couple of them i have noticed the gudeon pin end is not very central to the forging but will be able to get a good set out of 8. Getting the small ends bushed for full floating pistons. I heard there was a heat treat process before you shotpeen them but cant find that anywhere? anyone else heard of it?
