Alright, i am DEF. doing the 4g63 engine swap in my 98 Eclipse GS. I've checked out the threads and everyone keeps saying buy a GST or just turbo the 420A motor. No one gives the answers to the people looking to do this swap. I know what i need for the swap i nkow its a lot of time to do the swap and i know its a lot of money. I have the money, have the time, and dont want to buy a GST. (cant find any cheap in the area, tired of looking) The only things i really need to know is.... Will the 4g63 engine fit into my engine bay or will i have to be fabricating? I found a front clip off of a GST that has the engine, tranny, ecu, wiring harness, intercooler, etc. everything i need for the swap pretty much for $1200. The tranny is AWD so i need a FWD tranny, found that for $1000. I can do all the work myself so dont need to pay anyone for the install. Thats pretty much why i only need to know if the 4g63 motor will fit into my engine bay. Please reply to the thread if you can help me out and not tell me to buy a GST please. . Thanks everyone.

I thought GS's had a 4g63 in them and RS's had the 420a in them?

no the 2G GS/RS both have the chrysler 420A motors. i hate the motor!!!!! no offense to anyone who has the motor, just my personal opinion. Im always having engine problems with it, and im not the type of guy that beats the hell outta the car. i know its slow, so its not worth beating. Thats why im doing the 4g63T swap, so its quick and i can actually race some american muscle cars and atleast stand a chance.
