Well... I've bought a used 97 GSX with no mods for god's sake......though it's neat...:)

So I'm planning to get myself a mod series while I'm frustrated when looking at the turbos coz I dunno which is better...... especially the Frankenstein ones coz there're so many of them like stage 1,2,3...etc.

What's the difference between different stages of Franks on hp gains?

Franks are old news. Not saying you can't make power with them, plenty of people have and still do. However, there are more efficient setups out there. Try ForcedPerformance.com, AGPturbo.com, dsm-performance.com and dsmotorsport.com.

If you are set on a Frank, I think Extreme has a reasonable "guide" on their site to explain the different levels.

Yeah that'll do......

As it's absolutly gonna be a street car I'm seeking some 'mild' mods......

What'd u guys rekon??

arnt frank turbos more for larger displacement engines? im thinkin if u got a frank turbo it would hardly spool up due to the large size of the turbines.

yea theres a lot of turbos but 20gs are nice for the dsms. they can run up to over 25 psi but that would blow your engine. anyways i think that would be best for your enigine setup.

Uh, how can you be sure that it would be the best turbo for his engine? Do you even know anything about his setup?

Anyways, give us some HP goals...so that we can better recommend you a turbo to fit your needs.

I'd like it pushed to 500

by the way I'm really messed up with the terms like 'clipped'/ 'ported' and so on......

u know man, it's rather confusing for me coz I'm new in mods

500whp? Dude, you definitely need to start reading up on alot of things.

Clipping involves removing some material on the fins of the impeller wheel, thereby reducing restriction in the turbo at high rpms.

Porting is just removing material on the inlet/outlet ports to allow for better flow.

I think you should visit DSM.org and read everything!

ok......

I think I'd better suck all the stuff be4 I can actually start tuning my fugged up car...
