I am bolting up my 56trim in the AM.

I have the unused water lines capped off and I port matched my 2g exhaust mani to the turbine housing gasket. By the time that was done I only had time to hold it up in place.. look and go home.

Yes I have the oil line on the filter housing.. etc... However.

It looks like I will need to clock the comp housing a bit. I have a 6 bolt in a 2g and it wont clear the fitting on the bottom of the water line because the clamp bolt lug is contacting it.

It looks like all I will need to do is detach the WG actuator at the wg lever pivot and loosen the clamp bolts. Then once clocked and locked adjust the actuator arm to match its new position.

EDIT

I just remembered the WGA mount is welded and bolted thru the clamp... I think I'll modify the pipe.

Anytips for installation. Maybe wastgate actuator adjutment tips.

Anyone who has been there and done that chime in.

I thought I'd ask. I'm certain I'd figure it out in the AM but why not make my life easier by asking.

Ok this pic I found on here is of a Mutt on a 6 bolt...

It is close to the situation I have to get the idea... You can see the comp housing lug and the water fitting. Now if I rotate just a touch I will clear. I might just pull the water pipe cut the protrusion off of it and mig weld over the hole. Then I can keep the outlet pointed straight down.

Actually thats my old picture and thats the clearence using a hahn .500 spacer plate.

Well that is about my situation W/o a spacer with the PTE.

I might try to actually clock the water pipe first. Via bending the mounting tab. Maybe unbolt the pipe hangers and push it out of the way then mount the turbo and rehang the pipe modifying the bracketry as needed.

Yeah i found that the PTE fit a tad better then the mutt and the 3052 fits with no modifacation or rotation needed.

If you have mounted a PTE what did you do about the pipe. I know the mount on a 1g car is a problem but not on mine I just share the motor and pipe but 2g mounts...

With the PTE or with a mutt?

If I had something that looked like that pic w/o a spacer like I do I would'nt use one...

Then again if I had one from a previous huffer I'd consider it but that is less fan clearance.

both i didnt remove the spacer until i got the FP30. Here is the clearence of the 3052 with no spacer.

on my pte i clocked the compressor housing just a tad (had to for my ic pipes anyway) and i also dented the water pipe just barely noticable. it fit perfect, i used to use a spacer and now i don't

Thats probably a 2g water pipe. I don't see a swap in your mods.

I just mounted my BR580 last week with an EVO III manifold and did not have any water pipe clearance issues. I've got about a 1/4'" gap left. My profile's not updated but this is on a 6 bolt now.

I got it.

I just carefully knocked on the fitting with a 2lb mini sledge. Firm but gentle taps. I did'nt even ding that fitting. It pointed that stub that was pointing down and out to down and back. No problem.... Incidentally if you do things just right the fan on 2g clears... (with the OE radiator) so no low pro fan is needed until you put a big AL one in.

I ported my manifold to match the gaskets and did a good bit of smoothing and radiusing inside the colector area... Took me about 3hrs... How clean does the inside of the EVO manifold look and how does it match up with the gasket/ turbine housing size of the BR580/PTE SCM61?

For anyone who has yet to install one, I simply ground off most of that lug extending off the compressor housing. Once it was ground down, I had no problems installing it.

Your going to love that turbo, it made decent power on my car. Check my gallery for the dyno graph. 480 whp, with rough tuning.

I'd just wack the water pipe stub or use a NT pipe.

Seriously I don't think I fussed with it more than one minute. I used firm not hard or soft hammer taps and the pipe rotated for ample clearance.

Incidentally the OE heatsheilds all fit as well. This is going to look extremely clean under the hood.
