I wasn't sure where to post this as there is not reallly an "off topic turbo question" but I am wondering how the EVO VIII turbo compares to an EVO III 16g or Big 16g or whatnot...I am guessing it uses a fairly standard Mitsu turbo, correct? Just tweaks in the housing/A/R and what not, right? If anyone knows...thanks!

The EVO VIII turbo has a twin scroll turbine housing and is reverse rotation. It has a compressor housing that looks like a TD06 if I remember correctly, although it is a "16g" class turbo according to Mitsu. Basically a fancy big 16g. No, you cannot bolt one to your DSM for any reason.

The EVO III 16g was factory issue on the EVO III, the last of the EVO's that had a motor you can swap into a DSM (all the newer ones are backwards). It's basically a Big 16g with slightly better compressor design and a MUCH better turbine housing. They also creep like crazy if not ported very carefully.
