which k&n filter?

i dont want to buy the whole intake system so is there a k&n filter i can buy and just put on with a hose clamp or do i have to buy an adapter?

You need an adapter, but you don't need a K&N. Look for a 4", and make sure the adapter's included:

would it be worth it to change the intake pipe as well for more performance or is the difference not worth the money?

I don't think you'll get as much from the intake pipe as from the filter swap. However, there's a cheap one going on eBay as well, and it looks okay. About $60, they have a slew of them.

But start with the filter and see what you think.
