Just thought i would share some pics of the talon motor. My goal was to have the motor put together by Jan 1st. Not doing too bad, i'm a few days behind. Hopefully i can have the thing together by the first week in jan and running in the car by Feb 1st. Special thanks to everyone in here who helped and answered all the questions and encouraged me to put this thing together myself.

ahhhhhhhh yes yes

such a familiar site.....brings back memories of countless hours spent putting all the parts together..then taking everything apart again to recheck specs and putting it back together aagin ....:thumb:
Feels pretty good hu..looking at that shitzu and saying i build it

click on [my webpage] to see mine

i too used wiseco pistons .30 overbore
i used the 1g rods balaced
Btw thats a six bolt right....mine is
good luck man ...

Did you actuall put together the pistons and rods yourself or have a shop do it?

how was the install? I've been thinking about just putting in Eagle Rods for my 7 bolt. Till I save enough for the 6bolt swap.

your probably not asking me, but i answer nonetheless.
i did the whole rebuild in my garage. I used wiseco pistons with their rings, and used the 1g rods which where balanced and bored to 22mm on the small end.
Its not as hard as you may think, all it takes is lots of patience.:dsm:

yup its quite easy actually. you'll need a piston ring expander, file, feeler guage, bomb torque wrench and a compressor. just keep everything imaculatly clean and be carefull. lube everything with oil real good and use assembly lube on all bearing surfaces. 3 step torque everything. and if your useing eagle rods, take the bolts out of them and take the rod cap off prior to putting them on the pistons (they are torqued on pretty good from the factory, i wrapped mine with shop rags and put them in a vice) i also lightly sand the sharp edges of the pistons with fine grit sand paper.

Mine will be done soon. I am getting ross [email protected] over bore on stock rods, new crank (walked),new oil pump, head studs.

I am gonna have the shop put mine together cuz I would have to go buy all the tools.
