I saw this on EBAY and wondered if anyone has acquired one. If so, whar size adapters would I need to mount it on the stock MAS and T25 Turrbo?

Just in case the link goes down.

Looks OK if you are going to a t25, 14b or 16g.... etc... Not compatable with big compressor housings. Unless you cut it off where the before the final taper... Then it would'nt have a barb to hold the coupler on.

Yeah I thought about that too, but its 50 bucks so if I upgrade the turbo I'll just put it back up on EBAY and get half for it.

I need a pipe too.

DIY Intake Pipe and IC pipes

I think I'll do something like that. I have a 3" mandrel 90 that is actually a walker stocking part # at most parts places...

I will likey cut the bend in the middle to make a 45 and connect it to the other half (rotated 180) with a silicone coupler. The connection to the mas and the turbo will be silicone too. The pipe to turbo short but the middle and end will be deliberately sized to provide some flexibility in operation. I know of many PPL with some intake pipes getting twist offs from motor movement and no place in the pipe to move about.

The other issue I have with the ebay intake is there is'nt alot of room for flex. When the motor moves and the mas is staionary. A third one is what to do when you switch to a MAFT or something.

So I got this intake from ebay, however I'm not impressed with it at all...

Should the inside of it look like this? I always thought that it should be as smooth as possible to allow for the least resistance.

That looks just like my injen. That will mount directly with the stock mas and turbo. Personally i will be selling my injen and getting a Dejon in the near future.

Yes it is cast aluminum and they are all rough like that. It's not sheet aluminum welded to gether or anything like that. Anything that is cast is rough like that. It will not hamper flow at all. That intake you bought is strictly for looks it will not give you any performance gain what-so-ever. So don't worry about how it looks inside because in this case it simply doesn't matter. Look at the ripples in the stock pipe, this is way smoother and you still get no HP gain so there ya go.

If intake pipes give you no advantage, then why is the first mod listed in the stage1 tuning guide on this site to get a new intake pipe and filter? Why is dejon better than injen?

Thanks for the help.

He isn't saying intake pipes won't give you HP, he is saying THAT particular intake pipe will not yield HP. The diameter isn't any bigger and the flow isn't smooth so no HP to gain.

Dejon offers 2.75 up to 4" intake pipes that are mandrel bent and larger in diameter. The more air that can flow freely, the better the engine breathes, the more HP is gained.

none of them do anything really.

the reason its #1 mod is because of the filter. a 8 dollar filter on the mas and stock pipe will give same results as a 300 dollar hk$ filter with 200 dollar Injen pipe.

Beaner's info is incorrect. HP is gained with Dejontools intake pipes.

according to who? dejon's test and claims?

ill only look at dyno figured provided by individuals, not companies.

I think I would stick to the DIY intake pipe($10-20?) and a filter...

I like my home made ace hardware intake pipe. I even made a bov return for it and kept the mass in the stock spot and it will hook up to a 14b-20g tubo. Can't argue for $15 The gain was very minimum other than my car hit fuel cut with it in It realy isn't woth it unless you can fabricate one of your own for dirt cheap.
