prothane motor mounts

I bought a set of the prothane motor mounts for my 2g....there is 4 different mounts. I got the 2 big one in, pain in the ass, but there in. My question is, on the little ones, the ones that go in the mounts behind the engine by the firewall, and the ones that go in the mounts by the radiator, how do they go in? On the big onces i had to pound out the old ones and the metal ring that was in them. Do i do the same for the little ones or are they just set in there. I know its confusing, but anyone who can help i appreciate it. Thanks.

the front on is just an insert. You just insert it in and put the mount back on. The back on my 1G you have to press the inside out the put the press the mount iin.

Never done a 2G so con't tell you exactly ?

The front and rear inserts just go over the old ones. You don't remove them like you did the drivers side and passenger's side.

Ive tried pounding and a torch to expand the aluminum and CANNOT get the driver and pass side mounts out.

I ended up resorting to the coffee can/gasoline/match method

Cut into the inner sleeve with a hacksaw, they'll come right out.

i stuck it into a vice, then used a screw driver to get inbetween the metal ring and the mount. Then used vicegrips to pull it away, and eventually they fell out. Took a good hour though
