tdo5 20g and tdo6 20g question

I have heard that the install is diffrent. I have a td05 16g in my car and I wanna upgrade to a td06 20g but i heard its not a direct bolt on ? Meaning I have to get diffrent lower ic piping on some shit. Please enlighten me. tia

You'll just need a j-pipe.

The compressor on the 20g faces downward not upward like the 16g.

You won't need a j-pipe, you probably will have to get rid of the j-pipe and get a little coupler.

Since the compressor faces downward you need a 90 degree elbow welded on to face the direction of the stock intercooler. I actually used an elbow from home depots plumbing section and had two couplers to mate it to my greddy hard piping. Since a 20g flows too much for the stock intercooler most people get custom pipes with the front mount so you dont need the coupler. I also had to dremel out the inside of the metal elbow since it was threaded as to not impede the airflow. The first time I put it on it blew it off because the air was catching on the threads. I think there are places like turbohoses.com or something that sell 90 degree silicon elbows but they arent cheap.
