The time has finally come to get a damn intercooler to match my big t28. I know Ive posted this a couple times but Im still having trouble deciding. Its pretty much a choice between the ADFX big sidemount or a fmic. Now heres a little catch with the adfx intercooler. The two exits are 2.5 inchs so ordinary smic piping wont fit UNLESS I get blow through intercooler piping from dejon, which wouldnt be bad at all. With the frontmount Im really not sure what would be addiquite. I would prefer to not get a front mount but at the same time I want to get the most out of this turbo. Thanks in advance bras:thumb:

Well if I were you I would just go ahead with a front mount. In the future if you plan to upgrade the turbo then you will already have the front mount and wont need to upgrade. For a 2g and for the bigt28 I think that the greddy front mount would be nice and adequate. If not that then there are some nice kits with spearco cores that would be perfect for the turbo you have. Hope this helps.

check out the hahn kit, i just got it, excellent quality, nice core

Kinetic Motorsports, really nice and really well priced.

Excellent pieces. I've felt these directly after summer time runs with a big Frank and really small injectors running big boost. Cold to the touch, not warm, COLD.

And for that price, including piping etc, you can't touch it. Pardon the pun.

These guys have a shop less than an hour away from me, and it is a first rate oranization. They do nice work.

I am not affiliated with them and stand to gain nothing from this, I am just trying to help you out with your quest.

ps, forgot the link OMG http://www.kineticmotorsport.com/products/kinetic/fmickits.php

The kenetic kits are still under testing. I just want to make sure about the greddy, is it as bad as everyone says? I found a really good price on the big fmic.

I searched for the greddy front mount in this forum section and alot of posts came up. ALOT of people bad mouthing them but everyone that had one wasnt complaining. A couple questions about it though. What size piping is it? And its not short route piping correct? And if anyone has a picute of the "big" greddy front mount on a 2g with the 2ga "smiley" bumper I would appreciate it.

Greddy Large I'd say ( Front mount )

Yeah, or you could just take a shit right in front of the radiator. It will cool off the air going into the intake manifold just as well. It's also cheaper than a greddy fmic.

or you could buy yourself a nice C&R radiator with some spal blades to compensate for the larger FMIC.:thumb:

Ok I just got the big greddy and I have no complaints, especially for the price. I also know of alot of very fast cars running the greddy so why does so many people not like it?? Just curious

How the hell would you know? I hate it when people bad mouth products they have no experience with. Stop talking out of your ass and help people, thats what this sites for ass.

On lighter note, I have been doing more research on the greddy FMIC. I think it will be good for what I am looking for out of my car. But I am still open to suggestions. Thanks to you who have attempted to help me out.

How would you know whether I have experience with this product or not? I'm actually trying to keep someone (yourself) from upgrading a $1000 piece of equipment more than once. Greddy will not release flow numbers or any other helpful performance information about the kit for a reason. It flows like shit and the pressure drop would be enormous with the way the pipes are routed. I mean for god sakes one end tank is flipped to go right in front of the damn intercooler so that the piping can run right across it for a mile. If your going to pay damn near a grand for an intercooler it should be designed for the performance oriented. That's why we buy these front mounts in the first place isn't it? You can buy an excellent intercooler that will flow better for less money (ADFX FMIC). Or for a hundred bucks or so more you can get a Spearco 2-216 core with custom short route piping from several vendors. That corewill be big enough for anything our 2.0 liter could ever throw at it. You can bet I am not talking out my ass.

AMEN to that! These guys do beautifull work, top quality and for the price, I agree, why pay more for a name? The 2g kits are now done I believe. The website says "Available Mid-August 2003"

I just got a 1g Kinetic kit. I also got them to make me a custom J-pipe. They are really gonna be a big name in the DSM comunity if they keep up the outstanding craftsmanship. The piping is a work of art!
