I hooked up a buschur afpr and 1g rail i bought used. When i crank the car it will read 90psi of base pressure no matter what i do. I have tried adjusting it a few ways. Any idea on why it would do this? What is the proper way to adjust an afpr? Its an sx btw

thanks

Check to make sure all the vacuum lines are hooked up properly. I would call Buschur if nothing else works.

nipple on the fpr is threaded in. you need to put teflon tape on the threads.

i will try that, you mean at the adjustment spot right?

also i just realized that i am not doing it at fully warmed up temperate, so that might have something to do with it because doens't the fp increased until the car warms up?

no temp has nothing to do with anything.

i know the fpr in the pic is slightly different, but you get the idea. teflon tape the part circled.

are you running a maft? you need to check for vaccum/ic leaks. what is your vaccum at idle read on your boost gauge?

those fitting already have tape all over them. I am not running the maf, but i have a boost leak i think somewhere from behind the intake manifold. -18psi at idel on boost gauge

do you have the pressure source coming straight off the manifold or from the stock location?

i don't have an other side at all, only has where it connects to the rail, returns and pressure

If you bought it used that could be your problem. I hate to say it but that is why i don't buy critical parts used. I have the same BR/SX regulator and it works perfectly for me. Call Buschur maybe you can send it in for a repair.

ITS FIXED! A friend thought that i should check the return do to pressure being so high, and I did and realized it was kinked. It was due to the regulator being pushed back about 4 inches from the stocker so the hose couldn't bend right, i cut about an inch of the line and looped it around some stuff and now its running great. 43psi and kicking.

Glad you got it fixed! I didnt have that problem with the return line kinking though. Strange. The biggest problem I had was getting the spark plug wires on the first coil closest to the head. It was a PITA.
