i know this has been asked before, but i couldnt find it

whats the best 3" downpipe, or are they all the same? im probably gonna be getting one soon and was wanting to know which was the best. right now, im looking at the apexi N1, but am open to suggestions.

also, whats the purpose of o2 eliminators? does the o2 sensor restrict exhaust flow a lot?

your o2 sensor is restrictive and it will cause boost creep because of back pressure on the wastegate flapper. youc an port your stock one or get a tubular. i dont like the o2 eliminator setup cuz then you cant change anything. if your downpipe breaks you have to get the same one you had because they made to fit each other. i would just get a apexi downpipe (i sell for 222 shipped and have it in stock) and get your o2 ported or get a tubular from 122performance.com or victoryperformance.com if your not running anything bigger then a 20g then you dont need mroe then port work

O2 eliminator down pipes like RnR's are good because they outflow a ported or enlarged o2 housing. You still keep the o2 sensor.

thanks for the info.

im thinkin im gonna get the apexi downpipe.

what are the measurements of a 3" downpipe? is it exactly 3 inches or is it more or less?

what kind of performance gains should i expect to see if i got an apexi 3" downpipe on an otherwise stock automatic 1g?

I was also looking at an Apex-i N1 downpipe, but for my power goals I changed my mind. The Apex-i N1 downpipe for the FWD DSM starts as a 2.5 inch diameter and expands to 2.75 inches after the flex section. For AWD it expands to 3 inches diameter. I would recommend the www.rnrracing.com O2 eliminator downpipes. Even at a 2.5 inch diameter they would out flow a ported O2 housing and 3 inch downpipe. Smoother bends and unit construction are the reasons. Go for a 2.5 inch O2 eliminator with a 3 inch catback, that would be a good combo for street cars not looking to make too much power. ( 400+whp ).
