Depends if it's thicker or thinner than a stock gasket. The fact that you didn't tell us what thickness your going to run or even what head gasket were talking about makes it pretty hard to answer your question. Thats like saying you hear a funny noise and asking whats wrong? We need a little more info.

It should be a Mitsubishi metal head gasket. I bought it used (not insatlled but someone didnt need it) It is already installed and I am just wondering if it could be a metal head gaskets fault that I am getting lower compression reading than I would have hoped for.

Itll lower compression, but from like 8.5 to like 8.4 : 1

two cylinders are at about 150 psi and two are at about 160 psi. it is 4K miles after a rebuild. the car pulls ok, but burns oil. about 1 litre in 500 miles or so.

If you didnt run it hard enough during break in, could just be a shyte ring seal. I had boost issues breaking in my last motor, and it took damn near 10k miles to get compression up to 170.
