So I have the new RACE Apexi BOV, the thing is huge. Kind of hard to mount it veritcle on the VPC setup on the IC pipe, doesn't fit under the hood. Well it doesn't fit on the bottom either, hits my dipstick on my auto trans. Anyone used this beast of a $450 BOV? I didn't pay that much, and not sure if its worth that much, but would like to know some imput on sound, performance, install, and anyone out there that might have it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone tried to mount this on a DSM?

Thanks everyone

you paid 450 for a bov:thumbdown

wtf is wrong with you? you coulda ran 12's for that.

Holy crap man 450 bucks?! It must make music or somethin. Apexi is the sh!t though. looks bad ass. #1 Get extra long intercooler pipes and run them through your firewall. Or even better through the window to the inside of your car so that the bov points right in the face of the passenger and when they say,"Make that cool swoosh sound!". Let umm hear it. It will blow the f'n face off!:thumb: ha ha ha ha! Or install a nitrous system and run the purge line inside the car and run it through the passenger seat up right under the head rest so it blows on there nick. ha ha ha, If that really happend to me I would probably hit my head on the windshield! ha ha ha. SSSSSSHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! ha ha ha ha I will buy a kit just to do that!

I hate to say this but you will need to get a new UICP with a flange that is located on the side. Or you can use the one you have and have someone weld a new flange on it for you. Custom is always cool, but it might get pricy if you dont know the right people

Just to let everyone know, that I didn't pay $450, in fact I paid less than what you could buy just about any BOV. Yes it is huge, and yes I am running the VPC setup so it vents out to the oh my god its going to be loud atmosphere. Just wanted to know if anyone else out there has ran one, and the ifs about it. Yeah learned the hard way that you can't mount it down on the UICP, and whats worse is the damn thing has a way bigger inlet, like half inch bigger than the type S and twin chamber. So it doesn't bolt up to the flange on the UICP.

So I at the point where I am going to weld this onto my UICP. I want to know is there anyone in the DSM community running this BOV? I am changing my turbo setup and kind of scared running this BOV. Whats the lowest amount of boost that I can run on this BOV? I am wanting to run 10psi on day to day and 18-24 with a flip of the switch. Will that BOV work on 10psi? How much different is it than the twin chamber, and type S? Any info would help, and it would be even great if there is someone out there that is running this BOV.

I'm gonna bring this back to life so I don't have to start a new thread.
But, I might be trading my Greddy Type S bov for one of these and wanna know if anyone has experience with it. The flange is supposed to be greddy but this guy is saying it is bigger.. I have a VRSF fmic so rotating the bov to fit right shouldn't be a problem I don't think. I would like input from someone using it or knows about it before I do trade.. Help? :)

Wow it seems like forever that I had that car and setup....
I remembered I had to figure out a couple things, one was that the O-ring was bad and wasn't holding boost/and fluttered. Fixed that and then it didn't like boost under 18psi out of the e316g.
What I remember the most about it was that when it released it sounded like a clown laughing at you. Insane. If I could find out who I sold my car to and what they did with it I would jump on it again. It will fit on your VRSF kit with the right flange. I have a picture of what the flange side looks like if you want.
If you can get it on the cheap I would jump on it!

I'm getting it for WAY cheaper than I even wanna say LOL and it is like BRAND NEW.
I'm running a decent sized turbo, but I do DD my car and not at only 5psi and under a lot. I also noticed it has 3 vacuum ports? If you could post pics I'd appreciate it, I've read good things about it but nothing off them on a DSM.. LOL
