I have my eyes set on this fwd 91' eclipse. It is selling for 800 dollars and it has skipped timing, What exactly do I need to get to fix it and in what order. How expensive is it going to be I am selling my RS 97' and will get this fwd if its good for fixiing up. Any help in advise is appreciated. Oh, if I buy it Where can I get a head for it??? good price.

IF the existing Head is bad & not a good core you could spend another $800 in PARTS on a replacement Head, Gaskets, Timing Belt & Tensioner...
The REAL questions here are ...
Did it hole out a piston?
Is it pretty stock or modded out?
Is the ECU still in it? Is the ECU good?
How about the Tranny & Clutch?
Tires? Brakes? Etc?
How long has it beeen laid up dead?
You could EASILY get to $4 or $5K invested in it pretty quick -
& THE BIG QUESTION IS>>>>>>

By that time WILL YOU WISH you'd bought an AWD?

Hmmmm Wow!

I didnt even think of all that good God for dsmtuners.com Thanks man, I think I know where an AWD 93' is sitting and running but its automatic, I dont know how much. Would you know how much would I be looking at? I will be going out to see it today in like 30 minutes from now and its about 2 hrs away. What should I be looking for on this car and would it be a better deal? even if its auto??? In the future could I change to 5speed? Thanks BUCK.

Isn't a 93 a 7-Bolt Motor? Ideally you get an EARLY 92 AWD with 4 Bolt rear end & 6 bolt block - I doubt the Auto-Tranny swap is cost effective - It would have be a cherry 91 or EARLY 92 AWD before I did that - be patient dude - there's a good one out there...

i agree with the being patient...but dont fear the 93-94 7 bolts. yeah ideally you want a pre 92 engine.
i wouldnt suggest buying an automatic if you dont want an automatic. the swap isnt worth it if you dont already own the car.

Thanks for your help and comments guys. guess what I saw the car is an automatic like mentioned previously and it is not so good of a shape, its been stopped for nearly 3 yrs the guy said. You wouldnt believe how much this kook is asking for it... $4500... yes i know and guess what so funny. The whole damn car is stock, has now mods, even the wheels, and has 168,000 miles on it, I said to myself no wonder the damn car been here for 3 yrs LOL. After I sell my RS I will take my time in looking for the perfect math upon AWD, 5speed, and it would have to be white I love cars that are white or black dont matter really, and it has to be an pop-up headlight I dont know what year exactly but it has to be, theres something about that and it calls my attention the most. Having 2 rx-7's and wanting the Talon or Eclipse AWD the same aswell pop-up I made my mind on that, Thanks guys any suggestion upon where I can start doing my search around the country for my match???
