So I'm a little disappointed with the dual runners on the JDM Cyclone intake. Would it be reasonable to remove the runners so that air flows through both the big and the small runners at the same time? I realize this will probably kill low end torque somewhat, but from what I gather, I'd probably gain quite a bit up in the higher rpm range. Does anyone have any experience with intake manifolds like this? I'd really like to try this out and hit some better times at the dragstrip.

I'm sure there's a lot of opinions and concerns about this such as pressure loss, etc. Everyone's thoughts are welcome.

You mean butterflies, not runners.

It still won't deliver as well over-all as a stock manifold. The Cyclone's intended advantage is to give stronger torque at lower RPMs without losing that gain at higher revs.

How are you actuating the butterflies at this time? Have you asked Lordpaxin about it?

But you're seeing firsthand why the Classifieds isn't flooded with "Cyclone WANTED" ads.

Sorry, butterflies. I talked with LordPaxin a while ago about it, and I got everything working right, however, the intake itself isn't what it's cracked up to be. I figured if I tried this out, it would help a bit. I'm just a bit disappointed with the technology.

Yes I am. Performance is more dreadful than helpful.

Are you sure it is working right? I havent heard anyone say it makes performance worse than stock, matter of fact I have heard people say if it wasn't such a PITA to make work it would be a good mod.

I know my non turbo stealth had dual intake and it you turned it off you could feel the car wasn't as fast.

It's working correctly. I've even tried ziptie-ing the small runners open, and then the long runners on a couple of runs down the strip. Logged each one, and the times were around the same. Basically it all comes down to driver error, from my experience.

If anyone's willing to trade their stocker for mine, tha'd be awesome :thumb:
