drive train mileage???

i'm looking to buy a 90 tsi awd, i own a 91gst really want the awd for the rain and snow, the car i'm after had 140,000 on it but with a new motor not even sure if its totally broken in, should i be worried about the mileage on the tranny or rear end? What are some things to look for? Obvios signs of wear and tear or is there some thing eles i could check ??

just make sure it shifts good when just normally driving it ... then drive it hard for a while and make sure there's no noises or any sudden jerking then either ... if not then it's all good. Also .. check reverse a few times, a lot of people forget about that.
