my egt probe was recommended to be placed in the number one runner of the manifold and between 4 to 6 inches from the head, also i just drilled a 1/4 in hole and have a clamp holding the 1/4 in probe tight into the manifold. wroks good, im looking into finding a new probe also causs my gauge flickers some and sometimes doesnt work, anyone know were to buy there probes, i obviously figured just calling up autometer to get it.

ok thats a damm good idea. um.... on your signiture you mentioned something about grinding gears with the new 2600 clutch. i am having the same problem. what did you do, or adjust to fix it?

TRE has EGT probes.

It's a good idea to put the EGT probe about 4 to 6 inches away from the head and not after the turbo because the turbo will cool the exhaust a bit leading to inconsistant readings. Also, just about every piece of tuning advice is based on locating the EGT in the runner, not the downpipe.

To drill the hole: Turn your car on and let it idle. Take your trusty drill and drill the hole into the manifold. The exhaust gas flowing through it will keep metal chips from falling into the runner. This is quickest, as you do not need to remove the manifold. :thumb:

i read and drilled the hole first with a smaller bit and worked my way up to the 1/4 in bit, so just u get smaller bits of metal going through the turbo instead of possible bigger chunks with one sweep of the 1/4 in, and of course with the car on.

pneumo , with the new 2600 the clutch grabs right off the floor and i have it adjusted to the max, tryed bigger custom slave and master rods and neither helped. so shifting at high rpms it shifts slow and grinds causs im not getting enough engagement out of it. its ok around town and its been weaks and still is the same, i was hoping it would wear in some but hasnt much, o well atleast it isnt slipping like my old 2100
